Following the government’s announcement of the latest national lockdown, effective 5th January 2021, we confirm that in line with government guidelines, Village Properties offices will remain open for business.
However, we are not encouraging customers to visit our office unless absolutely necessary and in any event this must only be via prior appointment and you are advised to maintain social distancing and abide by the rules with regards to face coverings.

Can you move home in lockdown?
The governments advice is that you can still move home in lockdown. However, there are restrictions in place when it comes to the moving process itself.
“People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary,” the government website explains.
This means that you can still move house, but you might have to ask those within your existing household to help you rather than anyone else.
Can house viewings still take place?
Again following advice from the government website, viewing property can continue during lockdown, however, the government has issued advice to those wishing to see a prospective new home.
“Initial viewings should be done virtually wherever possible,” the website states.
Additionally, if you are visiting a prospective new home, you are advised to wear a face-covering when doing so and maintain social distancing.
As above, the government’s advice is that arranging any physical viewing of a property must be by prior appointments only.
When viewing properties in person, you are also advised to avoid touching surfaces wherever possible, wear a face covering, wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser.
